2. to convey (a drawing, design, or pattern) from one surface to another, as to a lithographic stone, earthenware, or glass, by any one of various special means or processes: »

You transfer the embroidery design from the paper to cloth by pressing it with a warm iron.

3. to make over (a title, right, or property) by deed or legal process: »

to transfer a bond by endorsement.
